Welcome to the Tridentine Diocesan Museum, one of the oldest in Italy!
Founded back in 1903, its location is actually even older - the architectural complex of Palazzo Pretorio and the Castelletto were erected, in continuity with the Cathedral of San Vigilio, before the tenth century. They were the first residence of the prince-bishops of Trento, until it was officially moved to the Buonconsiglio Castle, in the mid 1200s.
Together with the iconic Torre Civica, these buildings delimit Piazza Duomo, still today the vibrant heart of the civil and religious life of the city.
Enjoy your visit!
