Welcome to the Museum of Natural History of Morbegno, founded in 1974. Since 1983 it has been located in the eighteenth-century Palazzo Gualteroni.

This is the largest nature museum in the province of Sondrio, and one of the main ones in the Central Alps, a highly diverse territory. Consider that it encompasses one national park, one regional park, six nature reserves, two inter-municipal parks, and 42 sites within the European "Natura 2000" network.

Within these exhibition halls, you will have the opportunity to observe some of the natural wonders of the central Alps, in particular of Valtellina and Valchiavenna - from minerals to insects, from fossils to mammals. On the ground floor, in what was the only heated room of the ancient palace, there's a specialised library open to all, a new hearth of knowledge.

On the second floor, you will find a classroom, offices and the museum storage, while on the top floor, you can explore temporary exhibitions, attend a lecture, or take part in a themed course.

Finally, near the entrance you will find an information point with a list of all the services available at the museum, which are many: Wi-Fi, a bar, wheelchairs. bottle warmers, disinfectant gel and more.

Shall we then?
